Things you’ll need for this project:
- 1 yard cheater quilt from Spoonflower
- 1.25 yard coordinating solid color fabric
- Sewing Machine
- Scissors
Follow the steps below to order your Fill-a-yard Cheater Quilt from the Kris Wong Design Spoonflower shop.
Visit my Spoonflower shop at Spoonflower.com/profiles/kriswongdesign
Cut out 4 corner pockets, 8.5 inch on two sides and 12 inches on the third side. See reference photo.
Lay out all the pockets on the coordinating fabric (WRONG SIDE UP). Use pins to hold down the corner pockets in place.
Place the cheater quilt face down on top of the coordinating fabric.
Sew all around the blanket using a 1/2 inch seam allowance. Leave a 6 -7 inch opening to turn the blanket inside out.
Turn the blanket out inside out and top stich all around the top.
This next step is optional. Sew through the blanket to keep the two layers together. Please see suggested sewing lines on the reference photo.
The final measurements of the blanket came to 33 inches by 39 inches.
Once you are done with these steps, you’re all done with your blanket is ready for the beach or the park!
I hope you enjoyed this project and enjoy the last bit our 2022 summer!
